Yoko Kz.（Kitazaki）

 

Yoko Kitazaki was born in Kyoto and studied oil painting from a young age. She was captivated by the layering colors of Monet's "Water Lilies," and wanted to express the shifting light in her own work. She studied dyeing at Kyoto City University of Arts and its graduate school, and Monet's flat colors and dyeing techniques continue to influence her to this day.

Currently, she creates acrylic abstract paintings and works primarily overseas. She has exhibited numerous works in exhibitions organized by Italian art groups and international exhibitions, and has also participated in numerous exhibitions in Paris and New York.

In Paris, she has exhibited three works at the SALON INTERNATIONAL D'ART CONTEMPORAIN, an art shopping mall held at the Carrousel du Louvre. She has also been selected and exhibited at the Salon d'Automne three times.

Other important exhibitions include being a member of the Japanese Contemporary Artist Team since 2022, and participating annually in group exhibitions at the NoHo M55 Gallery in New York.

Her work has also been featured in the contemporary art catalogue "ARTISTS OF TODAY AND TOMORROW 3.5 - Gangemi editore," edited by Italian art critic Monica Ferrarini.

Kitazaki believes that art is a universal language, and her works convey a message. Duality is at the root of her creative themes. For example, "day and night" are natural phenomena with no boundaries. She believes that we too are one being without boundaries.

Recent works include large-scale pieces she has created called "Hanging Art." Her aim is for people to experience the energy of her works, and she hopes that this will soothe people's hearts.
